A BIG thank you to those whanau who attended the Home/School Partnership meetings held recently at our
school. Your support and ideas were much appreciated ! These meetings are a great way to network with other parents as well as being able to have the opportunity to have your say about important issues that affect our school.
Our theme this term is 'Community'. We have been learning about what makes a successful community. We have also learnt about the important features of a community and the qualities needed to be a strong community leader. In science, our focus will be the Rosebank School community garden. The Year 5/6 team will be having a 'My Kitchen Rules' cook off in Week 8, using some of the delicious vegetables from our garden.
Our writing focus this term has been procedural writing. We have learnt how to structure a procedure as well as identify the important words we need to include when learning how to make something. We used you tube clips to help us with this process. We learnt how to make paper cranes by following the steps from the video. We were not very successful the first time. However, when we referred back to the video (several times), we were able to support one another to make the crane ourselves. Tau ke!
